Bloggerstock: “What is Your Theme Song?” Wrap-Up
Posted on 01. Jun, 2010 by icewolf08 in News
Bloggerstock started in April 2010 with a group of the 10 founders, for all intents and purposes that served as a working proof of concept. Once we got that original swap up and posted we decided that we would take the idea and open it up to the entirely of the blogsphere. No, you don’t have to be a 20-something or a member of our friendly network neighbor 20SB to participate in Bloggerstock, you just have to be a blogger who wants to participate.
So, May rolls around and we held sign ups for the next bloggerstock event. We had 35 people sign up to participate. It seemed that things ran pretty smoothly. We expected to have a couple people go AWOL on us, it is kind of the nature of the beast, and wed expected to have to field some emails and help people get in touch with their swap partners. While I happen to have an email box full of emails from bloggerstock participants, it wasn’t really a big deal to help everyone out.
At the time of writing this post we are only missing posts from four of the 35 participants. Which means that we had about an 89% success rate for our first crack at this with people other than ourselves. Though I am sad to say that one of our missing posts is from a founder (tsk tsk tsk!). We skipped the ring over two of the missing posts and if either of those AWOL participants turn up with a post we can still fit them in.
All things considered, including the fact that we overlooked that this past weekend was a holiday weekend in the USA and many people go on vacations, an 89% success rate is pretty much a success in our book. We are currently working to get the posts of the people we have heard from up and posted somewhere so that they are not left out.
We would like to thank everyone for participating, and we hope that you all found it enjoyable. We would also love to hear any feedback that you have about the event, the process, the topic, how we handled issues that came up, etc. We want to be able to continue this event and keep you involved so we really want to know what you think would make it better. Please feel free to leave us feedback here in the comments or via email or twitter. We are still a very young organization and it is only through your feedback and ideas that we will be able to grow and mature.
We also hope that any of you who enjoyed being a part of bloggerstock will come back and join us again in the future. Sign-up’s for June are currently open, and we would love to see you with us again. We are also taking suggestions for future Bloggerstock topics. You can find both forms on the right hand side of this blog.
Thank you and congrats to all those who participated. We look forward to hearing from you and blogging with you in the future!
