Most bloggers have heard of blog-swaps where bloggers are paired up and each writes a post for the other’s blog.  It is a way of sharing followers and just shaking things up on your blog.

We decided to take this idea to a different place.  Essentially what Bloggerstock aims to do is link a bunch of bloggers together in a “blog-ring.”  We will pick a common topic, starting line, or post title that all the participating bloggers will write about.  Then each blogger will post on the next blogger’s blog.  So, blogger 1 posts on blogger 2’s blog and 2 on 3’s and so on.  This way we create a series of related posts all linked together.

In theory we should be able to randomly create the order every time we have an event so that everyone always posts to and receives a post from a different person.  Each guest post should contain a linkback/pingback/trackback to the blog of the person who wrote the post.  This way the ring should form a complete loop.

The only real rules are that you have to write on topic provided and you have to put two links in your post.  One link should just point to your blog, the other link should point to the post that someone is writing for your blog.  If you use a blogging platform that supports trackbacks or linkbacks, you should use that URL in the link to the post.

If you want to sign up to participate in next month’s Bloggerstock, just see the Schedule page.  Sign-ups will close on the 15th of the month.  After the 15th we will post the list along with blog links so that everyone can get in touch with their swap partners.  Everyone should receive a post from the person before them on the list and send their post to the next person on the list.
