This month we are venturing back towards the creative end of writing with a little bit of a twist. We all have a bucket list of places we want to visit and things we want to do. It would be simple to just ask everyone where they want to go and what they want to do, so to shake things up a bit there is more to it. Pick one of those places and pretend you are there on your grand adventure, then write a letter home about it. Imagine the things you would see and do and what it would be like to do them. Try to convince whoever you are writing to that they are missing the adventure of a lifetime.
Remember this post is completely at your liberty. If you want to visit Middle Earth and spend a vacation in the Shire with the hobbits, that is fine. If you want to visit Italy and see the ruins of Pompeii or something else in the real world that works too. Be creative and have fun with it. If you don’t have a list of places you want to go (which I highly doubt) then make something up!

For May’s topic we are going on a time-warp, back to the days before blogging. All you 20-somethings out there know what we mean. Sure, back in the early days of the internet there was LiveJournal and a couple other online journaling sites, but nothing like today. It was the time of going down to the bookstore and buying a blank journal/diary to fill up with thoughts. Those were the days, looking at the clean blank pages, taking it home and pulling out the pens to start filling it up.
Well, this month we are going to do a throwback post. Go find one of your diaries or journals, pick an entry, and post it for Bloggerstock. You are welcome to scan a page (or the entire entry) to include, or type it out. If you feel like you need to change some names or block out some things, that is OK as long as the entry is readable. Then re-examine the situation and re-write the entry as if it was something that happened today, so apply your current perspective. Show what your entry was like then and how you would have written it had it happened today.
This should not only be fun to read, but I think it will be fun to digging through old journals and nocking off the dust!

Ok, so, I haven’t been able to think of a topic for this month and I apologize for the fact that I waited so long to get a topic out. I hope that there are still people out there who want to participate in this month’s Bloggerstock event. If not, we will just roll it over to next month and hopefully dig up some interest.
So, this is a theme that I have been thinking about for a while and I think that maybe it will work now. For this month I thought that it would be fun to post a photo and let everyone come up with some kind of story about it. As this is the first time that we are doing such a thing I will provide the photo, but if it goes well, I would love to have other people provide images that we could use for future topics. I think this give us the opportunity to really flex some creative muscles for a blog post. So all you have to do is take the image, include it in your post, and write whatever you want about it. You could write a story or a poem or a train of consciousness freewrite.
Without any more to-do, here is the image. I won’t tell you anything about it until post day so that the truth behind it doesn’t impact your writing.

This image is ©Alex Weisman. Permission is given to participants of Bloggerstock for use in posts related to Bloggerstock it's theme.
The post date for this month is: Saturday, April 30.
I hope that you enjoy this month’s theme! Sign up using the form at the bottom of the page or by clicking here.

First of all, someone should have told me that in the original post about this month I put 2010 instead of 2011! I feel dumb now.
Whatever.
So, the moment that you have been waiting for, the announcement of the list for the March 2011 Bloggerstock event. As a reminder, the theme for this month is:
“Stop the world, I want to get on/off”
Have you ever had a moment where you realized that you just want the world to stop? Maybe it was because you realized you were missing something, or maybe it was because you just wanted a minute to breathe. Tell us about a moment like this that you had.
Below you will fins the swap list, you will write a post for the person who is below you on the list. If you are the last person on the list then you send your post to the first person on the list. If you have questions please feel free to email me or tweet at @bloggerstock and we will do our best to get back to you quickly. You should get in touch with the person you are blogging for in a timely manner, and do your best to get your post to them 24 hours in advance. The post date is Thursday, March 31, 2011, and you should have your post up by 8PM in your local timezone. Please feel free to include one of our badges in your post or on your blog.
